Live Well, Be Well at Wilson 2019-2020
We recognize that your personal journey to wellness is lifelong, and we don’t expect you to figure it out all on your own. Getting deliberate about your personal health will allow you to feel confident, in control, and capable so that you can thrive personally, socially, and academically.
Balancing your personal well-being with the demands of Princeton life can be tough at times, but it is absolutely doable. Allow us to guide and support you as you figure out how to Live Well & Be Well at Wilson.
Throughout the fall and spring semesters we will offer a variety of formal and informal activities, spaces, and resources meant to empower and inspire a healthy lifestyle and sense of well-being.
Here’s some of what we have planned:
Study breaks related to personal health and well-being: Look out for our Wilson Weekly and social media posts on a variety of topics, as well as suggestions for how to get support at Wilson or the wider university community.
"Ping Pong w/ your DSL": Each week, Garrett will host an hour of ping pong! If you beat him, you win a prize.
Wellness options, at your fingertips: Wilson College and Princeton have much to offer as you explore your personal path to wellness. We will keep you up to date on the many offerings, including wellness workshops, yoga and mindfulness classes, study breaks, and other pop-up programs.
Yoga Wednesdays: Every week, we host yoga for students in the Wilson dance studio.
Garrett Meggs, your Director of Student Life (DSL)
He supports students around health and wellness and serves as the primary liaison between the college and other University departments, including UHS, CPS, and ODS.
Resident College Advisers (RCAs)
There are 18 RCAs at Wilson, and you can find them all listed here.
RCAs are your built-in support system and they love hearing from their zees! Your RCA is interested in what you have to say, whether it's a big concern or just something small that's been nagging you.
Peer Health Advisers (PHAs),
Wilson has 6 PHAs:

Just like RCAs, they provide support and referrals for other students. They also work to raise awareness, provide education, and serve as a resource for students on a wide variety of health issues, including: sexual health, sleep, stress, mental health, and substance use.
UHS is a fully accredited health care facility that provides quality medical, mental health and wellness services to Princeton University undergraduate and graduate students. Staff are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week during the academic year.

UMatter Now has great information about mental distress, as well as alcohol and interpersonal violence, that can help you intervene quickly and safely. Connecting Matters is part of the UMatter framework, and focuses on mental health distress.
Tiger Safe is Princeton’s official health and safety app for the campus community. The app features emergency contacts, crisis alerts, in-app tip reporting, location services, and a variety of health, safety and wellness resources. The app empowers you with the tools you need to be prepared, mitigate dangers and respond appropriately to situations that occur.
Tiger Safe is available to download free from iOS or Android.
The chaplains in the Office of Religious Life are available to provide pastoral care and spiritual counseling. The denominational chaplains are also glad to be in pastoral conversation with you and can be found by following this link to the chaplaincies.
