Welcome to Wilson!
I am your Director of Studies (DOS). In my role, I provide support for your academic development. What that means is that I am here to help you identify your academic goals and to do everything I can to help you reach them. From providing guidance with course selection to making sure you are well positioned to graduate, I look forward to supporting you on your academic journey. I work closely with your Peer Academic Advisers (PAAs) and your Faculty Advisers to ensure that you receive sound advice from a whole network of very wise people.
Before joining Wilson, I was a post-doctoral researcher in the Psychology Department here at Princeton where I studied implicit bias and disparities in student academic outcomes. I earned my Ph.D. in developmental psychology from the University of California, Irvine, where my research focused on adolescent decision-making under stress. In an effort to improve practices through scientific research, I used research findings to help inform policies that impacted adolescents who were caught up in the juvenile justice system. Many years before that, I was a student at Yale where I completed my undergraduate studies in comparative literature.
My favorite things to do in my free time include eating delicious food, listening to great podcasts, video conferencing with my baby niece, and practicing Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement. Please come by and say hi! I would love to hear about the last podcast you heard or the last great meal you had!
I’m looking forward to getting to know you all and to seeing how you change, develop and grow over the years.
