Hello everyone!  My name is Mari, and I'm very excited to be part of the Wilson community this year.  A third-year PhD student in the Program in Applied and Computational Mathematics, I spend a fair amount of time in the MAE and EEB Departments as well, studying cooperation and collective behavior in social and biological groups.  Prior to Princeton, I attended Yale University for my undergraduate degree in physics and sociology.

I am from Tokyo, grew up in different cities in Japan as well as just outside of New York City, and went to high school in northeast Italy.  Music is an important part of my life, and I have especially loved singing in the Glee Clubs at both Princeton and Yale.  I also enjoy getting to know undergraduates through Princeton Christian Fellowship.  In my spare time, I like playing strategy board games, solving jigsaw puzzles, journaling, and taking long walks.

Looking forward to meeting and getting to know you this year!
